Writing: Our new writing unit is combined with our work in reading. Therefore we are calling this current unit our “weading” unit ;) In this unit, second graders are writing opinions about books. This first part of the unit is all about writing letters to other readers to share opinions.
Math: In math we worked on double digit addition. The strategy we are using is the cross number puzzle. This strategy focuses on using place value to add larger numbers. We also reviewed fact families with “frozen facts”.
Social Studies: In social studies we looked at the theme of movement, which is about how people, goods/things, and ideas move in an area. We also looked at objects in our classroom to see where in the world these things were made.
