Writing: In writing we are reviewing the basic and essential writing skills of using punctuation and capitalization. We learned that capitals are at the beginnings of sentences, are used for the word “I”, and when writing names.
Math: In math we are beginning to work on adding and subtracting two digit numbers by using place value and the base 10 block manipulatives. We also learned about how to use cross number puzzles with base 10 blocks. Here is the video I sent out earlier this week that explains how to solve a simple cross number puzzle:
Science: Second grade scientists are continuing to work on our tree research project. This week they identified and sketched the seeds from their trees. We had a lot of fun on our field trip to the town forest today. It ended up being a beautiful morning!
