Writing: We have finished up publishing and are ready to celebrate our writing next week! We spent the later part of this week learning about parts of speech: nouns, verbs, and adjectives. We enjoyed playing the game Scattergories to practice brainstorming nouns!
Science: We continued to strengthen our scientific sketching skills this week by noticing the big details as well as small details in leaves. We learned how we can identify leaves by their tree species. We began a tree project in which each child chose a leaf to sketch and then identified the tree that it’s from. Next week we’ll sketch the seed of the trees and research interesting facts about the trees!
Second Step: Our focus for our social curriculum this week was on asking for help. We learned how to ask for help in an assertive way (rather than passive or agressive).
Here are some photos from Engineering this week!
