Writing: This week we finished up our information books. I plan to read each book this weekend and will then send them home. We also learned about adjectives this week and wrote about spring using adjectives, nouns, and verbs.
Fundations: In Fundations we are continuing to learn about more vowel teams. This week we began learning about the D syllables ee, ea, and ey, which all make the long e sound.
Social Studies: We challenged ourselves this week in social studies by learning about longitude and latitude lines. We used these lines to find locations on maps. We also learned about different land forms.
Second Step: In Second Step we discussed appropriate ways to ask for permission both inside and outside of school. We also talked about how to react when told “no”.
We had so much fun on our field trip to the Natick Community Organic Farm. Here are some photos from the trip!
What are longitude and latitude lines? How do you use them to find the location of a place?
What is an adjective? Tell me an example of an adjective.
How is maple syrup made? What is the first step? Where does the sap go next? How do they turn the sap into syrup?
