Writing: This week in our persuasive writing we revisited jazzy words. We made “synonym rolls” to show synonyms for overused words. Later in the week, we worked on using these words in our writing. We are continuing to use the hamburger organizer to write a paragraph.
Second Step: We have begun a new unit all about bullying. Our definition of bullying is: When someone does mean things to someone again and again. We talked about how reporting bullying is different from tattling and that it’s important to let a teacher or trusted adult know if you are being bullied. Each year, whenever, the topic of bullying is introduced, kids often confuse conflict with bullying. The important thing to remember is that bullying is repetitive and happens over and over again.
